‘Annapurna’ CM begins scheme

Women belonging to Dalit and Muslim communities on Monday literally had a mouthful as chief minister Vasundhara Raje personally served them food during the launch of the second phase of Annapurna Rasoi in Ajmer. Raje, while praising the scheme, said that it was being implemented by states like Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Haryana and Karnataka.

On December 16, when the first phase of scheme was rolled out in Jaipur, Raje fed a Dalit and Gurjar women, furthering the same strategy, Raje fed Dalit and Muslim women in Ajmer while launching the second phase in which 51 vans will run in Ajmer under the scheme to provide breakfast for Rs5 and lunch or dinner for Rs8.

“By December 13, the government has set a target to run 500 vans in all 191 urban local bodies. So far, common vans were engaged to distribute food, now we have decided to run Smart Vans to provide food. Under new vans, the consumer through live video conferencing can give feedback on quality and quantity of food to the centre being set by by the LSG (Local self governance). Also, GPS system has been installed in all vans to check their real time and location. This is the first scheme in the country which is being replicated by other states including Maharashtra, Gujarat, Haryana, Karnataka and Madhya Pradesh,” said Raje while flagging of the vans in Ajmer.

Meanwhile, Raje has also appealed to the people to donate to support the scheme. “The government has allocated Rs 325 crore per year for Annapurna Rasoi Scheme. The scheme needs support from Bhamashah, institutions, common man and organisations too. There is an online platform allowing anyone to donate,” said Raje and immediately MLA Shatrudhan Gautam announced to fund the scheme in her constituency Kekri for a year. Other dignitaries present too announced the contribution. The CM was also overwhelmed by Gautam’s initiative to provide food to the cows. The MLA has deployed two vehicle which daily collect surplus food from the houses and later deposit in the cow shelters.   
 
Raje has approved the proposal to change designation of college lectures to Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and Professor. In this regard, a notification for amendment in the Rajasthan Educational Service (College Branch) rules was issued on Monday. With the notification coming into effect, now 25% and 75% posts of principals in government colleges will be filled from Professor and Associate professor, respectively. In addition, posts of 477 professors will also be created. It also says that posts of professors will be filled entirely by promoting associate professors. With this, the state government will have an annual financial burden of Rs.6.77 crore.

1. Modernized Dairy Plant with a cost at Rs253 crores to be set up soon in Ajmer
2. E-Mandi to be set up in Bijainagar.
3. Rs50 crore to repair Bijainagar-Kekri road
4. Rs1 crore to set up New Bus Stand in Bijainagar
5. Proper drinking water supply to Masuda, Bijainagar and Bhinai by November 15
6. Assurance on continuous power supply to farmers
