The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP ) is avidly searching for leaders who can help the party gain political ground in Rajasthan. Kumar Vishwas, party incharge for Rajasthan, has been undertaking a series of trips to the western state and laying ground for strategy to make AAP find place in the state Assembly in the coming elections.

Vishwas is establishing contact with leaders who are presently undertaking any form of agitation against the government.

He met Sumitra Singh — senior Jat leader, nine times legislator and former speaker of Rajasthan Assembly — at her residence in Jaipur on Wednesday. Singh is a senior leader from the Shekhawati region and has been campaigning for farmers' rights.

He also met with Pooja Chabra who is spearheading the movement for liquor ban in the state. Vishwas said, "Liquor ban is a must for creating a safe society for women." He also urged the Vasundhara Raje government to implement the agreement reached with Chabra.

On Monday Vishwas had met Rampal Jat, a farmer leader.

As Rajasthan is largely a two party state with scope for a few independents and some individuals winning on their own steam, Vishwas is reaching out to all such possible contestants to contest as AAP candidates.

After the Punjab and Goa debacle, if AAP manages to make an entry in this state, it would be a big morale booster for the party.

That too before the Delhi assembly and Parliament polls, which will be held close on the heels of Rajasthan polls next year.
