Chief minister Vasundhara Raje, while speaking at the concluding session of the four-day Rajasthan IT day celebrations, urged the youth to turn tech-savvy in order to progress.

“We all understand that if we want to make things happen, we all have to be on the same page. We need to know the new language (computer language) to move on. If we do not know the new language, we will not be able to interact with our youngsters. Neither will we be able to push our state to the forefront of development,” Raje said in the presence of TV Mohandas Pai, IT veteran and a former director at Infosys.

“The things that all these people talk about is completely different and the way of thinking also doesn’t match ours. We can’t change by forcing it on us,” she added.

She further urged the youth to bridge the urban and rural divide by using technology.

“Change is not going to come from the government but from the youngsters. The youth will have to go out and bridge the gap between the urban and the rural people,” she said. Talking about women’s empowerment, Raje said if a woman can be a chief minister, she can be a sarpanch, a Zila Pramukh, or an MLA.

“She can reach the stars. Only, the opportunity needs to be given. I strongly believe a woman is the focal point of every family,” she said.

She also added that she is passionately in love with the people and state of Rajasthan.

“I am in love with the history of the state from where we can all take lessons. The courage of the people of the state is what I like,” she added.

Raje also gave away several awards to students, start-ups, hackathon winners, and government officials for their innovative technological contribution to the state. Amrit Dhara Water Project Limited was given an award of Rs 1 crore under the ‘Challenge for Change’ competition started at the Kota Digifest. As many as seven start-ups were given Rs 20 lakh each.
