3 Rajasthan Collectors in Narendra Modi’s U-40 ‘Aspirational’ League

Prime Minister Narendra Modi likes young officers as district collectors especially in backward areas where hard work is need to uplift the status. The government of India has selected 115 ‘aspirational districts’ across the country which are low on development index. Modi wants collectors of these districts to be of under 40 years of age with fresh pair of legs and innovative new thinking. From Rajasthan five districts - Jaisalmer, Baran, Dholpur , Karauli and Sirohi - feature in these 115 districts, which need extra ‘nourishment’.  

Rajasthan government seems to be partially aligned by the Modi’s vision as 3 out of these 5 Collectors fit the Modi’s age criteria. They are in safe zone when it comes to being less than 40 years of age. Sirohi Collector Sandesh Nayak (32) , Karauli Collector Abhimanyu Kumar (32) and Dholpur Collector Suchi Tyagi (39) are less than 40 years of age while Jaisalmer Collector Kaliash Chand Meena (54) and Baran Collector Satya Pal Singh Bharia (58) would need to be changed complying with Modi’s scheme of things.

All these 5 Collectors along with one from from Haryana had met the prime minister Narendra Modi when he had visited Jhunjhunu, early this month.

According to sources, The Prime Minister discussed the issues related to improvement of specific development parameters in these districts in line with the union government’s policy initiative for the rapid transformation of these 115 backward districts. A couple of days back,Prime minister Modi while evaluating the aspiration districts had found that 80% Collectors in these 115 districts were above 40 years of age.  

WHAT ARE ASPIRATIONAL DISTRICTS

Modi’s vision of a New India by 2022 needs rapid transformation of 115 backward districts across the country. These districts have been identified on criteria which include education, health, nutrition basic infrastructure like rural road connectivity, rural household electrification, access to potable water and individual toilets etc

Sirohi: Sandesh Nayak (32)

Dholpur: Shuchi Tyagi (39)

Jaisalmer: Kaliash Chand Meena (54)

Baran:  Satya Pal Singh Bharia (58)
