107 urban local bodies are now open defecation free including Kumbhalgarh and Bhindar

Under the preparations for clean survey (Swachh Sarvekshan) starting on January 4, 2018, 107 urban local bodies of the state have been declared open defecation free (ODF). While 105 urban bodies were ODF so far, two more urban bodies in Udaipur Division’s Kumbhalgarh and Bhindar Municipality were declared ODF on Friday.
Swachh Bharat Mission was reviewed in the divisional meeting held in Udaipur on Friday under the chairmanship of Director and Joint Secretary, Pawan Arora. In the meeting, the commissioners of Chittorgarh, Pratapgarh, Udaipur, Dungarpur, Banswara and Rajsamand local body and Deputy Director of DLB (Udaipur region) joined the meeting. On this occasion, preparations for Clean Survey -2018 were discussed under Swachh Bharat Mission. On this, Arora informed the officials of the urban bodies about the work done so far to prepare for the survey.
He instructed officials of the local bodies to perform well in the survey. The main purpose of Clean Survey-2018 is to make residents aware of cleanliness in urban areas of the state, Arora said. Encouraging the officials, Arora said that Rajasthan is a leader in all central plans. Therefore, for better ranking in the clean survey, all urban bodies will have to work better. It is worth mentioning that Clean Survey -2018 will start from January 4, 2018, in the state. It will be a survey of 191 urban bodies across the state. New parameters have been prepared for the Clean Survey-2018 by the Ministry of Urban Development. In which more than 1 lakh population / the states capital of 500 cities will be ranked at all India level. Which will include 29 urban local bodies of the states. In the Clean Survey -2018, 3,541 cities with a population of less than 1 lakh will be ranked at the state and zonal level. In which 162 urban bodies of the state will be included.
