On what he is looking forward to at JLF 2015.
@ashwinsanghi looking forward to @ZEEJaipurLitFes this year? What would you expect different from 2012?
@Sukriti393 hopefully we’ll see new talent getting a platform. It’s the most important part of JLF. @ZEEJaipurLitFes #JLFTwitterChat

On the future of novels.
As one of India's bestselling storytellers do you think "the centre of lit action is moving from fiction to non-fiction"? #JLFTwitterChat
— Sukriti Sharma (@Sukriti393) December 20, 2014
@Sukriti393 I believe that we are moving towards ‘convergence’. We want fiction that sounds real… #JLFTwitterChat
— Ashwin Sanghi (@ashwinsanghi) December 20, 2014
@Sukriti393 and we want our non-fiction to be narrated like fictional stories. #JLFTwitterChat
— Ashwin Sanghi (@ashwinsanghi) December 20, 2014
@Sukriti393 in effect, fiction that sounds like fact, and fact that sounds like fiction. #JLFTwitterChat

On his writing process and inspiration.
#JLFTwitterChat Ashwin hav been readng ur books,Krishna's key&chanakya's chant r personal fav.Wht's ur thought proces on pickng such themes
— Neetu Bhatt (@imneetubhatt) December 20, 2014
@imneetubhatt I rarely ‘pick’ a theme. The theme ‘picks’ me. Usually an obsession about a topic that prompts exploration. #JLFTwitterChat
— Ashwin Sanghi (@ashwinsanghi) December 20, 2014
@imneetubhatt it was a simple visit to the Rozabal shrine that got me going on The Rozabal Line. #JLFTwitterChat
— Ashwin Sanghi (@ashwinsanghi) December 20, 2014
@ashwinsanghi Always wondered, do you know the end of your story from the start or does it change course? #JLFTwitterChat #writingprocess
— Sukriti Sharma (@Sukriti393) December 20, 2014
@Sukriti393 I never begin writing a novel until I have every twist and turn plotted before me… #JLFTwitterChat
— Ashwin Sanghi (@ashwinsanghi) December 20, 2014
@Sukriti393 … think about it like drawing a complete picture, cutting it up into little pieces and then putting the pieces… #JLFTwitterChat
— Ashwin Sanghi (@ashwinsanghi) December 20, 2014
@Sukriti393 …back together (along with the reader). That’s what a mystery is about. What’s important is that the author… #JLFTwitterChat
— Ashwin Sanghi (@ashwinsanghi) December 20, 2014
@Sukriti393 needs to have the complete picture before him before he converts it into a jigsaw puzzle! #JLFTwitterChat
— Ashwin Sanghi (@ashwinsanghi) December 20, 2014
@ZEEJaipurLitFes @ashwinsanghi before starting to write the book, how long do you research for details? say for Rozabal Line #JLFTwitterChat
— E Anand (@eanand1) December 20, 2014
@eanand1 I usually spend a year on research. Then another year on plotting, writing and editing. #JLFTwitterChat
— Ashwin Sanghi (@ashwinsanghi) December 20, 2014
On the common thread in the books he's written so far.
@ZEEJaipurLitFes @ashwinsanghi what would you say is the underlying theme that connects all of your work?
— RaiKeti (@subanirai) December 20, 2014
@subanirai an overlap of history and mythology is what excites me. I would imagine that this is the connecting thread. #JLFTwitterChat
— Ashwin Sanghi (@ashwinsanghi) December 20, 2014
On his belief in a higher power.
@ashwinsanghi Can you relate to any real life historical episode where you felt "only God could have scripted this so good" #JLFTwitterchat
— Amol Parkhe (@amol_k_parkhe) December 20, 2014
@amol_k_parkhe I have always believed that I hold the pen to paper but the words come from elsewhere….
— Ashwin Sanghi (@ashwinsanghi) December 20, 2014
@amol_k_parkhe … I would imagine that virtually any and every event has divine authorship. #JLFTwitterChat
— Ashwin Sanghi (@ashwinsanghi) December 20, 2014
On an author he most admires.
@ZEEJaipurLitFes @ashwinsanghi One fellow author you adore the most ?? #ZEEJaipurLitFest #JLFTwitterChat

@SankalpSodhani it would have to be @devduttmyth who has provided my generation with simple yet profound answers. #JLFTwitterChat

On what it was like working with James Patterson
@ashwinsanghi Last one! How was it working with James Patterson on #PrivateIndia & what's the best & worst thing about him? #JLFTwitterChat
— Sukriti Sharma (@Sukriti393) December 20, 2014
@Sukriti393 the one thing that I learned in working with JP is “less is more”. How to convey strong ideas with minimum… #JLFTwitterChat
— Ashwin Sanghi (@ashwinsanghi) December 20, 2014
@Sukriti393 …fuss, that’s where the JP magic kicks in. It was a terrific experience. #JLFTwitterChat
— Ashwin Sanghi (@ashwinsanghi) December 20, 2014
On a possible second collaboration with US author James Patterson.
@ashwinsanghi Any plans for further collaboration with James Patterson ? Or any other author ? #JLFTwitterChat
— संकल्प (@SankalpSodhani) December 20, 2014
@SankalpSodhani I hope that ‘Private India’ will open the door to many more gritty crime thrillers. #JLFTwitterChat
