A week-long cultural festival called Sangamner Festival organised by the Rajasthan Yuvak Mandal and Malpani Group of Companies will begin on August 26.

Speaking about the festival, which will be in its 10th consecutive year, Manish Malpani, the Chief promoter of the event, said, "The festival features huge prizes to the extent of Rs. 1.5 lakh. It encourages local artists who will showcase their talent and skills in group dance performances on the first two days."

The festival will feature a host of performing arts events — music, dance, fine art. It's aimed to help budding artists from schools and colleges to showcase their dance performances. Over the years, this cultural fest has fascinated a number of artists from various cities such as Mumbai, Pune, Nashik, Nagpur, Kolhapur and Aurangabad and contributed to Maharashtra's cultural enrichment.

This year, the organisers have raised prize money on a whopping scale for winners in various groups. The dance competitions will be held in two groups — children's group in the age range of 9-15 years and an open group for artists above the age of 16. The state-level dance competitions will be held on August 28 and 29.
