Uttar Pradesh: 15-year-old girl raped by neighbour

A minor girl was allegedly raped by a neighbour while she was sleeping in the courtyard of her house at a village in Doghat police station area in Baghpat, police said on Tuesaday.

The incident took place on Sunday night when the 15-year-old girl was sleeping in the courtyard while her family members were on the terrace.

A youth living in the neighbourhood barged into the house and raped her, police said. As she raised the alarm, the youth fled.

An FIR has been registered on the basis of a complaint by the victim's family and efforts are on to nab the culprit, police said. The girl has been sent for medical examination, they added.
