UP: Mother ends life after not being able to find groom for daughter

A woman was found hanging from the ceiling of her house in Nawabganj area here, with police suspecting that she had committed suicide as she could not find a suitable bridegroom for her daughter.

Ramrati (40) hanged herself from the ceiling of her room in Loniapurwa village in Nawabganj area here last night, a police official said.

According to the family members, she was upset as she could not find suitable match for her daughter, the official said.

The body has been sent for post-mortem and investigation into the matter is on, police said.
