David H Petraeus, a former director general with US’s CIA rejected any notion of Indian state-sponsored terrorism.

Petraeus’s statements, which were first reported by the Indian Express, come at a time when the United States has been pressurising Pakistan to not support terrorists.

Trump lashed out at Pakistan on Twitter and accused them of fooling US politicians in the past. Trump said that he would stop it. Trump often has made broad statements which hasn't resulted in coherent policy decisions. However, Trump's tweet about Pakistan is in sync with White House's increasing hardening of stance about India's arch rival.

He said President Donald Trump and other US leaders have been clear that they will not "tolerate cross-border terrorism or terrorist safe havens anywhere"."As part of this effort, last month we launched the first-ever US-India Counterterrorism Designations Dialogue.
