Temperature increased in most parts of Bihar today with the mercury soaring to 41 degrees Celsius in Gaya, making it the hottest place in the state.

The state capital, Patna, recorded 39.8 degrees Celsius as compared to 36.8 degrees Celsius yesterday while the minimum temperature settled at 23.2 degrees Celsius, the state Meteorological department said.

Bhagalpur recorded a maximum temperature of 39.7 degrees Celsius while it was 36.8 degrees Celsius in Purnea, it said.

The MeT department forecast mainly clear sky in Patna and Gaya and possibility of rain and thundershower in Bhagalpur and Purnea.
