The TDP MP Naramalli Siva Prasad from Chittor, known for holding unique protests, on Monday stormed into the well of Lok Sabha dressed in Lord Krishna 's attire and played the flute before the Speaker Sumitra Mahajan, till she adjourned the House for the day.

The TDP MPs were protesting against the delay in grant of Special Category Status to Andhra Pradesh. Stating that the residuary state of Andhra Pradesh suffered huge losses due to the division, the TDP, an ally of the BJP, said it would continue protests till the Centre handhold the state to allow it to come up at par with other southern states. Prasad is a Telgu film actor turned politician. He is known for dressing himself up in many roles to highlight issues.

Earlier, he had held a protest by dressing himself up as BR Ambedkar, demanding special status for Andhra Pradesh. Later, he appeared in the attire of a tantrik armed with a wooden pellet rattle and performed a 'puja' outside Parliament demanding a special package for his state. Chanting 'mantras' and aping the body language of a tantric, Siva Prasad said the "lord" had sent a message for Prime Minister Narendra Modi through him.

During a protest in Tirupati against demonetisation in 2016, he dressed up as a 'Burra katha' (traditional storytelling) performer with a 'Veena' in his hand along with a couple of co-performers and narrated people's ordeals after the Centre denotified Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes.

In 2016, he had dressed as Kucheludu (or Sudama from Hindu mythology) and was seen holding a cut-out of PM Narendra Modi with a peacock feather pasted on his head to portray Modi as Krishna. He also donned a shirt with pictures of wailing farmers on one side and rich businessmen on the other to demand farm loan waivers. In 2014, he was spotted dressed as an Andhra folk singer at a protest. He also became a snake charmer. He has been awarded the best actor in villain category for the movie 'Danga' 2005.
