Sharpening her attack against DMK, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and AIADMK supremo J Jayalalithaa on Tuesday slammed it for being allegedly involved in "Himalayan corruption" in 2G scam and termed the DMK-Congress alliance, a "coalition of loot."

"DMK-Congress alliance means it is a coalition of loot. The alliance was punished (in earlier elections) for 2G, CWG and Adarsh scams. You can understand what kind of an alliance it is, considering the fact that they played even in Commonwealth games," she said while referring to the CWG scam.

Referring to the AgustaWestland deal, Jayalalithaa alleged that Congress and DMK had indulged in corruption at Centre and state, when the Dravidian party was in power. Addressing an election rally here, Jayalalithaa trained her guns against DMK, saying there was corruption in mining of sand, granite and power procurement among others when the party was in power.

"The Rs 1.76 lakh crore Himalayan corruption (in 2G spectrum allocation) was done by DMK's central minister," she said without naming former Telecom Minister A Raja.

She alleged that DMK was also involved in Aircel-Maxis deal and the telephone exchange case, both in which former Union Minister Dayanidhi Maran is accused.

"Corruption is the vocation of DMK and Congress. Show them the doors when they come seeking votes," for the May 16 Assembly polls, Jayalalithaa told the voters.

Taking on critics including, opposition parties like DMK and PMK, which have been critical of her party's manifesto, Jayalalithaa vowed to implement every assurance if voted to power again.

"I am not denying that we have promised freebies. It is true. But we have promised them because the AIADMK government led by me is always pro-poor and schemes are drafted keeping in mind the upliftment of the poor and help them sustain themselves," she said.

Apparently taking a dig at DMK President M Karunanidhi, she said "I have no family; I am not selfish." "I have no intentions of making money from cable TV by giving free colour TVs," she said. The DMK had in 2006 promised colour TVs if voted to power. The cable business in the state is dominated by Sumangali Cable Vision, run by the Maran brothers.

Parties including DMK, PMK and the PWF-DMDK combine had been making personal attacks on her but stopped ever since her party manifesto was released, Jayalalithaa claimed. She discounted their contention that the promises cannot be fulfilled, saying she commits herself only after "pondering over 1000 times" about implementing assurances.

"Those opposing the manifesto, prepared with people's welfare in mind, are against people. DMK has even approached the court against the manifesto. These are the enemies of the people," she said.
