Criticising Devendra Fadnavis-led Maharashtra Government for its delay on Maratha reservation issue, Shiv Sena on Saturday has questioned the decision of formation of yet another Cabinet sub-committee on the issue.

Shiv Sena mouthpiece Saamana in its edit published on Saturday criticised Devendra Fadnavis-led government on the Maratha reservation issue. It also pointed out that one road show by Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe resulted in laying the foundation for bullet train, but silent marches by the Maratha community did not yield any result so far.

Sena on Saturday also alleged that Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has provided Rs 40,000 crores in bullet train project, but has not given a single rupee for the Maratha community.

The Sena mouthpiece has questioned what the stipulated time was for the Cabinet sub-committee to submit its report. It also questioned whether this committee was a time buying tactic on the part of Government since committee would be holding talks with all the stakeholders even when the government is already aware of the demands.

Terming reservation to Maratha community as a burning issue, the piece in Saamana said that one does not know as to for how much time this farce and time buying tactics would continue?

The edit piece also pointed out that state has announced appointment of Cabinet sub-committee of five ministers headed by PWD Minister Chandrakant Patil. It stated that while every other community in Maharashtra is demanding reservation on the basis of caste and is announcing itself to be backword to avail the benefits, Maratha community which fought with invaders for saving motherland with the help of sword are now forced to take it to streets with silent marches.
