Mercury took an upward swing as the
temperatures rose in Rajasthan today amid light rainfall at
some places in the state.
Jaisalmer was the hottest place in the state with a
maximum temperature of 46.4 degrees Celsius, followed by 46
degrees Celsius in Ganganagar, the MeT department said here.
Mercury in Barmer, Churu, Bikaner, Kota, Jodhpur and
Pilani settles at 45.7, 45.5, 44.6, 44.3, 42.9 and 42.7
degrees Celsius respectively.
Jaipur and Ajmer recorded a high of 42.3 and 41.9 degrees
Celsius respectively, it said.
Meanwhile, Tonk recorded 4 cm of rainfall, followed by 3
cm each in Piplu and Uniyara and 2 cm each in Er Road and
Sujangarh since yesterday till 8 AM today.
No rainfall was recorded from 8.30 AM to 5.30 PM today,
the weatherman said.
The Department has predicted duststorm/thunderstorm
likely at isolated places of eastern Rajasthan and dry weather
in western parts of the state.
