Air Chief Marshal Birender Singh Dhanoa on Wednesday said the Indian Air Force is prepared for all kind of contingencies in full spectrum mode.

Speaking to ANI on the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas, he sent a message to IAF personnel ?to be ready whatever they have got, and with Plan B handy?.

The IAF Chief said there has been a tremendous improvement in the Air Force?s capability from Kargil till now.

?The main force of Indian Air Force during Kargil War was MIG 21, but now the IAF has maximum number of Sukhoi- 30s. Our ability to operate day night and all weather has shown a significant increase,? he said.

Talking about the aircrafts, the Air Chief further added: ?At that (Kargil) time we had only one or two aircrafts which could operate day-night and all weather. Now, most of the fleets other than MIG 21, which is getting phased out, are capable of day night operations and all weather.?

He further said the surveillance capability and ability to look across the border has also increased in the last 18 years.

Speaking on the shortage of ammunition in the defence sector, he said that there is no shortage of ammunition to fight a conflict.

?If the main is not available standby is available. So, it is not that we don?t have ammunition,? said the Air Chief Marshal.
