Former Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal on Wedneday accused Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh of creating financial mess in the state, saying the government was twisting the facts to cover up its abject failure on the economic front.

The Virbhadra Singh government is indulging in wasteful expenditure and lack of prudent financial mismanagement has plunged the state into a financial crisis, he alleged. However, the government is blaming the earlier BJP government to cover up its failures, Dhumal alleged.

The Government has raised loans worth Rs 4,000 crore during past 20 months while the BJP government had raised loans amounting Rs 6,672 crore during its five-year-term from 2008 to 2012 and even during its earlier term from 2003 to 2008, the Virbhadra Singh government took loans amounting Rs 8,032 crore, he said.

Dhumal said due to lack of prudent financial management the state is passing through acute financial crises but it is not hesitating in appointing dozens of chairpersons and purchasing luxury vehicles which is cruel joke with people.
