Puducherry Chief Minister V Narayanasamy today sought allocation of funds from the Centre for implementation of flood control and storm water drainage schemes in the Union Territory.
During a meeting with Union Water Resources Minister, Uma Bharthi in Delhi today, Narayanaamy presented a detailed memorandum seeking allocation of Rs 122 crores for the schemes, a release from the Chief Minister's office here said.
Last year several residential colonies and suburban areas were hit by torrential rains, following which the Chief Minister had evolved a plan to implement flood water and storm water drainage schemes, it said.
