To maintain public order and peace in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad on February 2, the day of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) elections, the police would impose prohibitory orders under Section 144 of CrPC.

Over 20,000 police personnels would be deployed that day, Hyderabad Police Commissioner M Mahendar Reddy said. Assembly of five or more persons within a radius of 200 meters from the polling stations will be prohibited under the CrPC.

"There will be a web-casting from 3,200 polling stations which will be connected to Command and Control centre of Hyderabad City Police for monitoring. All the CCTV cameras under community CCTV project will be used," Reddy said.

The prohibitory orders will remain in force from 6 AM to 8 PM on February 2.
