The incident was reported around 9 am, a PWD official said. Delhi Jal Board (DJB), in a statement, said it was repairing the leakage, which would affect water supply in east Delhi till tomorrow morning.
Supply would be affected in several areas of central and south Delhi, on July 26 and 27, as the agency would undertake plugging of another leakage near Rajiv Gandhi Smriti Van near Sarai Kale Khan, the statement said.
The south Delhi areas that would be affected include Jal Vihar, Lajpat Nagar, Greater Kailash, Vasant Kunj, Ambedkar Nagar, Okhla, Panchsheel Park, Shahpur Jat, Kotla Mubarakpur, Sarita Vihar, Malviya Nagar, Chhatarpur and areas under the jurisdiction of New Delhi Municipal Council.
The east Delhi areas that may be hit by a water crisis are Nirman Vihar, Preet Vihar, East Laxmi market, Defence Enclave, Laxmi Nagar, Shakarpur, Mayur Vihar Phase-I/II/III, Vinod Nagar, Mandawli, Trilokpuri, among others.
