The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) asserted on Sunday that nothing but a Ram Temple will be built at the disputed site in Ayodhya.

"It is certain that the Ram Temple will be constructed at that place (Ayodhya) and nothing else can be built there, this is also decided," said Bhaiyyaji Joshi on the sidelines of the Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha at the RSS headquarters in Nagpur.

The statement coming from key RSS leader Joshi, who has been re-elected as its national general secretary, indicates that the Hindu right wing organisation is planning to step up the Ram Mandir movement in the run for the 2019 elections.

Joshi said building a consensus on disputed site was not going to be easy and also stressed that the matter was sub-judice.

He exuberated confidence of a favourable judgment from the Supreme Court and said the construction of the mandir would begin after the court's order and it would be built on the basis of its verdict on the ownership of land.

Although Joshi hailed spiritual Guru Sri Sri Ravishankar's efforts on developing a consensus between the warring parties on the issue, he maintained it will not be easy.

"We have always maintained that the temple should be constructed with mutual agreement, but our experience tells us that building a consensus on this issue is not easy, Joshi said.

A three-judge bench of the Apex Court comprising Chief Justice of India Dipak Misra, Justice Ashok Bhushan and SA Najeeb is hearing the case to decide on the ownership of the 2.77-acre Babri Masjid-Ram Janmabhoomi disputed land.
