The Nagaland Legislative Assembly today moved a government resolution to permanently drop the Indo-Myanmar border fencing project.

The Minister for Health and Family Welfare, P Longon introduced the resolution requesting "the Central Government to impress upon the Myanmar government to permanently drop the project of construction of a fence on the Indo-Myanmar border in Nagaland with a view to continue the cordial and fraternal relations among the Nagas living on both sides of the border." NLA Speaker, Imtiwapang before adjourning the House for the day, informed that discussion and passing of the resolution would be taken up on March 28.

Notably, during the ongoing session of the Assembly, members raised concern on the intension of the Myanmar government to put up a fence the International border at Pangsha in Noklak sub-division of Tuensang district.
