Expressing concern over the attitude of the PDP-BJP government towards problems of Kashmiri migrants here and other parts of the country, the National Conference (NC) today sought a fast-track recruitment process under the Prime Minister s Package.

"No forward movement has been registered over the past two years with regard to recruitment of migrants despite availability of posts, as a result of which unemployed educated youth are hugely suffering from feeling of alienation , former MLC Vijay Bakaya said.

He was addressing functionaries of the NC Minority Cell at Sher-e-Kashmir Bhavan here.

Bakaya, who is also Political Advisor to NC President Farooq Abdullah, said "Government should initiate fast-track recruitment process for filling up vacancies under the Prime Minister s Package and resolution of various issues like renovation of dilapidated colonies in a time-bound manner".

He hoped that the coalition government will pick up the thread, without indulging in rhetoric, and get into vibrant mode to resolve issues confronted to the migrants.

He expressed dismay over highly dilapidated condition of tenements at Jagati and other similarly placed colonies.

Bakaya also highlighted the issues pertaining to migrant employees working in the Valley and hoped that apart from instilling sense of security, all necessary facilities will be provided to them.
