Catering to the typical missal taste buds of Nashikites the Misal-Sarmisal mohotsav in its second year once again turned out to be a favourite of the citizens.

Organised by Vishwas Sankalp Anandaqcha, Vishwas group and Vishwas Happiness centre, the Misal –Sarmisal festival offers varieties in missal and much more for the  people at one place. Conceptualised by Vishwas Thakur of Vishwas group, the festival was organised as Misal mohotsav last year and this year finds additions in terms of other variety of foods like pohe, upma, types of sweets, chocolates and other products like perfumes, masale and other products.

The main attraction though was the missal, a favourite breakfast of the Nashikites. The festival brought together many brands and joints which are famous for their typical taste like wood fire-Chulivarchi missal, kalamasala missal, kolhapuri missal, Indori, Dajiba, Vadoba, and other different types. A large number of people were seen visiting many different stalls.

The festival that began on January 26, 2017 will be hosted till January 29, 2017.

“It’s a three day of people bonanza. People from all walks of life come together on the pretext of the missal. This brings groups, families, work groups together in most informal manner and gives joy to all”, states Vishwas Thakur who started this festival at Vishwas Lawns, Gangapur road.

Vishwas further adds that there are many joints where families can’t go together but the taste is good, so when we invite the stalls here all can visit and taste. “When groups of youngsters come, they invariably take missals of different tastes and share. This brings back to me the very joyful activity of sharing tiffins of different tastes when in school. The experience is pleasurable”, Vishwas adds.

This year when Nashik is in the grip of election fever, the Misal festival also saw politicians from different parties coming to visit and share the table for the taste of missal. Informal talks was a natural fall out. The festival on its first day on Januray 26 saw guardian minister Girish Mahajan, BJP MLA Balasaheb Sanap, MLA Devyani Pharande, MNS observer for Nashik Avinash Abhyankar, Rahul Dhikale, ZP president Vijayshree Chumble meeting and greeting each other over the missal.
