Keeping in mind 2018, one of the most influential and powerful RSS leaders Ramlal is camping in Jaipur for two days. His main agenda is to unite the party, to bring the dissidence to a bare minimum and to work out a suitable coordination strategy between the party and the government. Insiders in the party say that BJP and RSS has no moral ground to talk about the unity and discipline unless they sit together to bring the Tiwari issue to a logical end.

However, to strike a collision, he met today a number of senior BJP leaders and also the Chairmen of UIT’s and Municipal Corporations. He also had a long dinner meeting with Ashok Parnami and is likely to hold his detailed discussions with the Chief Minister tomorrow.

After being a bit sidelined during the past one year, Ramlal has emerged more stronger now and is considered close to the Party Chief Amit Shah. Knowledgeable sources say that in the recent Union Cabinet reshuffle also, as a RSS nominee, Ramlal was consulted by Amit Shah on various inductions and drops.

Political observers are keen to see that while sorting out the internal dissidence in the party and the government, whether Ramlal will be able to sort out a long pending Ghanshyam Tiwari issue by bringing this entire chapter to a logical conclusion. BJP is in a cleft stick over its rebel MLA Ghanshyam Tiwari, who is busy these days raising public support on a three-month Loksangrah Abhiyaan. But this campaign is different. Tiwari is mobilising people against his own party BJP, launching a frontal attack on chief minister Vasundhara Raje and her loyalists including Ashok Parnami, Yunus Khan , Rajendra Rathore etc.

The 6-time MLA from BJP and a grassroots leader , Tiwari has hinted that he would announce a new political front in November on the culmination of his campaign. His diatribes look stale and repetitive and now even media is not taking Tiwari seriously. Mainstream media is giving a miss to his rallies and statements.

The matter is in the knowledge of BJP chief Amit Shah and other functionaries but it seems the party is clueless how to deal with Ghanshyam Tiwari, who was once blue-eyed boy of state BJP.  He was also served a notice in May 2017 for his anti-party activities by the party’s central disciplinary committee. But no action has been taken after he replied to the notice.

Unfortunately, in this disturbing scenario. BJP high command and RSS have done nothing but had been silent spectators. Neither it is acting against Tiwari’s indiscipline nor is it reacting to his allegations of corrupt practices of Raje government.

Tiwari loses Brahmin base, Chaturvedi may pitch in

Since BJP came into power in 2013, Tiwari has been openly raising voice against chief minister Vasundhara Raje and her government. As a result he has been alienated in his own party and was not inducted in the cabinet. A section of  BJP leaders feels that it was an error of judgement on the part of Chief Minister and her advisers to not to induct Tiwari in the cabinet as a routine minister with some light charge. In fact, the personality and profile of Vasundhara Raje is so powerful and dominating that no minister, may be Tiwari or someone else, has guts and capacity to embarrass the  Chief Minister and her government in public. Any how , by now, this has become too late and a history only.

Ghanshyam Tiwari is waging a lone battle. Fighting against own people only creates opportunities for others. While he is losing out party’s dedicated Brahmin vote bank to social justice minister Arun Chaturvedi, BJP is finding it hard to defend against Congress  when its own senior leader is firing tirade.

Tiwari’s dissent helping Congress

Tiwari’s sporadic attack on government is only helping the cause of Congress as the opposition gets a free Raje baiter in Tiwari. And the only loser in this game is Tiwari’s own Deen Dayal Vahini, which can never win independent identity till Tiwari is a BJP MLA. Tiwari is a challenger. And he will have to sweat extra and dirty his hands to enter the ring where Congress is already strongly placed. Merely calling Raje’s government corrupt and insensitive will be termed nothing more than a widow wail. Tiwari has opened up a front against his own party government for years now. But rather than mobilising public against BJP, he instead got alienated in his own party.

After expressing dissent in various party forums and assembly, Tiwari constituted a Special Purpose Force (SPF) Deen Dayal Vahini to oppose Raje and her government. But so far there has been no impact.

Tiwari’s failure, an opportunity for Arun Chaturvedi

A few year ago, Ghanshyam Tiwari was considered to have a strong base in Brahmins. But his flip flop show in recent times has put him on a sticky wicket. Brahmin vote bank is now withering away. His own party has served him notice over indiscipline. This provides an ample opportunity for another Brahmin leader, a minister in Raje’s cabinet - social justice minister Arun Chaturvedi - to emerge as strong Brahmin leader in the party. Chaturvedi has a good rapport with the chief minister and party functionary. He prefers to keep a low profile. And this will help him in positioning himself as a party loyalist who can represent Brahmin community to party’s benefit.
