Mother arrested for killing twins

The seven-month-old twin brothers, who were found dead under mysterious condition in a well in Dumka district on Friday, were killed by their mother, a senior police officer today said.

After dumping the infants, the mother Malti Sah chopped her braid to misled the police, Mayur Patel, Superintendent of Police said.

The chopped off braid has been recovered, he said.

Police arrested Malti after confessed to her crime, Patel said.

Patel said that Malti was suffering from mental trauma since she believed that the twins were inauspicious.

On Friday, Malti was found lying unconscious inside her home with her braid chopped. She was found in an unconscious state by her elder son and was rushed to Sadar Hospital, he said.

She had dumped the infants one after another in a well near her home, Patel said.
