A Special Invetigation Team (SIT) investigating the murder of senior journalist KJ Singh and his mother Gurcharan Kaur on Saturday released the pictures of five suspects who allegedly murdered the duo last month in Mohali.

According to an Indian Express report, the Mohali SP(D) Harbir Singh Atwal said that the images were released after analysing CCTV footage of several cameras installed in the locality. “Out of the five men, two were wearing turbans while three have a hair cut and all the suspects are looking in their mid-30s,” Atwal added.

Atwal further said that they had sent the pictures to all the police stations in the state and also contacted Haryana, Chandigarh and Himachal Pradesh police.

So far, 70 people including family members, servants and former servants have been questioned.

On September 23, senior journalist KJ Singh and his mother were found dead in Mohali. Singh was found with his throat slit with a sharp-edged weapon.

Singh's 92-year-old mother was allegedly strangulated. The house was ransacked and things were missing, the police said.

Singh began his career with the Indian Express. After a brief stint with the Times Group, he worked with The Tribune.

At present, he was not associated with any media organisation.
