During his whirlwind three-nation tour, PM Narendra Modi had a punishing schedule that included over over 32 engagements across the three nations over a period of 95 hours, in addition to over 33 hours of flight time. These includes over 17 meetings in the US, eight in Portugal and seven in Netherlands. Choosing to travel during the night, the PM did not spend any nights at Portugal and Netherlands.

Some of these engagements, including a few meetings with members of the diaspora, lasted for more than the scheduled 10 minutes. He is also known to have met young Indian Americans, who have achieved feats in competitions like the Spelling Bee.

In Air India 1, the PM's special flight, he held several meetings with the PMO office staff that travels with him and checked routine government files and other paperwork. PM Modi also continued to be in regular touch with his ministerial colleagues, delegating work and getting feedback on key political matters during his stay.

While he was at the White House earlier this week as part of his whirlwind three-nation tour, Modi was shown around the residential quarters and the Lincoln Bedroom by President Donald Trump. He was also shown a copy of the famous Gettysburg Address and the desk on which he wrote it.

In return, PM Modi gifted President Trump a 1965 stamp, released to commemorate the centennial of President Lincoln's tragic death. During his visit to US in 2014, then President Barack Obama took PM Modi to the Martin Luther King memorial.
