Talking to reporters here, he said, "Indian Army does not belong to any party and attempts to politicise the army to derive political mileage is unfortunate. The reported remarks of Modi that his government had given free hand to the army to conduct the surgical strikes are an insult to previous prime ministers including Indira Gandhi, Lal Bahadur Shastri and Atal Bihari Vajpayee," he said.
