A man was allegedly robbed of Rs 15 lakh at gunpoint by four bike-borne assailants near the Vasundhra Police Outpost at the Hindon Canal River here, the police said today.
The incident occurred when the victim, a collection agent, was going to deposit the money in a bank after collecting it from outlets of different companies, Senior Superintendent of Police H N Singh said.
The assailants snatched his bag and hit his head with the butt of a pistol. The incident took place around 1 pm, the officer said.
The police are scanning CCTV camera footage to identify the accused, the SSP said.
A case has been registered and the matter is being probed, he said.
