Man held for snatching woman's earring

A man was arrested for snatching a woman's gold earring in Seemapuri area in north-east Delhi, police said today.

The incident took place yesterday afternoon when the woman was returning home from her brother's place. When she reached near Shyam Prakash Petrol Pump, Apsara Border, three persons came from behind and one of them snatched her earring and fled, they said.

After the woman raised an alarm, police patrol staff chased the accused and nabbed Kamel Khan. A gold earring was recovered from him, police said.

"On sustained interrogation, Khan disclosed that he along with his associates, Deepak and a juvenile, committed the crime," a senior police official said.

The three were also involved in other cases of robbery and snatching. On further interrogation he disclosed that they used to target women at crowded places during day time, the official said, adding efforts are on to trace the other accused.
