Union minister Prakash Javadekar today asked people to make the city plastic free and clean.

He was speaking during a cleaning drive in Nashik Municipal Corporation's (NMC) ward no 18 this morning.

"Elected representatives, NGOs, social organisations and students should make joint efforts to make Nashik plastic free and clean in the country," said Javadekar, who is the minister for Human Resources Development.

Mayor Prathmesh Gite, BJP MLA Balasaheb Sanap and NMC corporator Vilas Sangamnere were present on the occasion.

The minister asked NMC to make separate arrangement to lift plastic garbage in the city.
