Maha approves 3 tech-enabled centres to tackle cyber crime

In order to bring down cyber crime, Maharashtra Government has decided to set up three technology-enabled crime detection centres at crime and intelligence departments.

The government has given administrative approval for formation of these centres at Crime Investigation Department (CID) in Pune, state Intelligence Department in Mumbai and Maharashtra Intelligence Academy in Pune, as per a recent Government Resolution (GR) issued by state Home department.

As per the GR, such centres have already been set up at the district police headquarters and commissionerates to tackle growing incidents of cyber crimes.

A high-powered committee had recommended establishing such technology-enabled centres at SID, CID and MIA, approval for which was given by the government.
