The opposition Left Front in West Bengal today organised a procession demanding immediate arrest of the Trinamool Congress leaders named in an FIR filed by the CBI on the Narada scam.

Leaders representing LF constituents, including CPI(M), CPI, Forward Bloc and RSP, walked from Esplanade to Entally in central Kolkata condemning the involvement of TMC leaders in Narada sting operation case.

CPI(M) state secretary Surjya Kanta Mishra demanded the immediate arrest of those mentioned in the FIR by the CBI.

"The untold stories in the Narada tape should be disclosed to unearth many more TMC leaders whose names are yet to be made public. They should also be interrogated and punished," he said.

Mishra also demanded immediate dismissal of the ministers who were found taking money during the sting operation.

"Such ministers have no moral right to continue in office," he said, wondering why "The Modi-government is silent on the Narada issue, as the Lok Sabha Ethics Committee is yet to make any progress on the matter even after 100 days." Participating the procession, LF chairman Biman Bose also demanded the arrest of those named in the CBI FIR and urged the people to create pressure on the tainted minister to resign.

Bose suggested that CBI should take all the Narada case accused in to custody.

"Otherwise these high profile leaders may influence the investigation process," he said.

Senior CPI(M) leader Sujan Chakraborty also demanded the arrest of those named in the FIR and their punishment.

LF ally Forward Bloc organised separate processions in Hooghly and Purulia districts demanding the arrest of the accused on the same issue.

TMC secretary general Partha Chatterjee, however, described the FIR as a BJP ploy for political revenge.
