After holding talks with representatives of both sides involved in Ayodhya dispute on Thursday, Art of Living founder Sri Si Ravi Shankar met renowned Sunni cleric and senior member of the All-India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) Maulana Khalid Rashid Firangi Mahali here on Friday.

"We are not working on any agenda but trying to bring both the communities together to hold dialogue and find a solution. Court verdict cannot connect hearts but any solution through talks will bring communal harmony and recognised for ages by the members of both communities," said Sri Sri after the meeting.

Expressing hopes that the dispute can be resolved through talks, he said: "I accept that it is a little late for such efforts, but I am confident that stakeholders of both the communities will sit together to resolve the issue."

"We have to create an atmosphere of togetherness and this message needs to be taken forward to build bridges between the members of the two communities. I have no formula or solution, but I am not in hurry. It will be too early to jump to any conclusion. I appeal to all to have some patience and give time to religious heads of both communities to work out a solution," he said.

Maulana Rashid said that both have decided to take forward the message of peace and brotherhood across country between members of the two communities.

Sri Sri will now head to Nagpur to hold talks with Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat on Saturday.

On Thursday, Sri Sri had met Ram Janmabhoomi Nyas chairman Nritya Gopal Das, Mahant Dhinendra Das of Nirmohi Akhara, Iqbal Ansari and Haji Mehboob of Sunni Central Wakq Board.

Mahant Gyan Das of Hanumangarhi, however, refused to meet him.

But even after series of meetings in Ayodhya, both sides are sticking to their guns. Mahant Nritya Gopal Das said talks can be held with other sides only when they withdraw case from the Supreme Court and Muslim litigants said they would abide by the apex court final verdict.

His efforts to mediate did not find favour from Ram Lala Viraajman of Vishwa Hindu Parishad, AIMPLB and All-India Babri Masjid Action Committee. They showed reservations on holding talks without any concrete proposal and at a time when day to day hearing begins in the Supreme Court from December 5.
