A city court on Monday remanded to police custody till April 15 the ten arrested officials of Hyderabad-based IVRCL which was building the Vivekananda Road flyover that collapsed last month.

The order was passed by Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate of Bankshall Court Madhumita Basu.

They have been charged under IPC sections 302 (murder), 307 (attempt to murder) and 120B (criminal conspiracy).

The arrested are the construction company's Director Operations Gopal Krishnamurthy, Deputy General Manager of Project Monitoring Cell (PMC) S K Ratnam, Assistant General Manager Mallikaarjun Rao, Assistant Manager Debjyoti Manjumdar and Structure Manager Pradip Kumar Saha.

The others are Project Manager Tanmoy Sil and senior engineers Shyamal Manna and Bidyut Manna and Manager (Civil Execution) of IVRCL, Niloy Roy and Assistant Vice-President of Project Monitoring Cell (PMC) and administration of the Eastern Region Ranajit Bhattacharjee.

Twenty-six people were killed and around 89 were injured as a portion of the Vivekananda Road flyover collapsed on March 31 in busy Burrabazar area.
