JKLC directs authorities to complete probe Mubarak Mandi fire

A Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Council panel has asked the administration to complete the inquiry into the fire incident that took place inside the royal complex few years back and table the report with it.

Joint House Committee on Mubarak Mandi Heritage complex today asked the administration to complete the inquiry ordered by the government into the fire incident that took place inside the royal complex some year back, an official spokesman said.

The Committee directed the authorities concerned to provide detailed enquiry report for scrutiny by the members so that the panel can file its recommendations for the preservation and protection of the prestigious heritage site, he said.

The directions were issued during a meeting of the Joint House panel held here today under the chairmanship of MLC, Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo.

Legislators Surinder Kumar Choudhary, Ashok Khajuria, Ramesh Arora, Ajaz Ahmad Khan, Rajesh Gupta and Pawan Kumar Gupta were also present in the meeting as its members.

The Committee also sought status of items or articles shifted from the Tosh-i-Khana, Mubarak Mandi Complex and reasons for demolition of historical Chabutra and park.

It was also decided in the meeting that the committee will soon conduct on spot inspection of the Heritage Complex to take stock of its physical status.
