Jammu: 12 employees suspended for absence from duty

The Jammu and Kashmir government has suspended 12 officials for remaining absent from duty in Poonch district of the state.

Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Mohammad Harun paid a surprise visit to various government offices of Mandi tehsil and Surankote sub-division in the district yesterday, an official spokesman said.

During the visit, he found 12 officials absent from duty in the offices.

All 12 have been suspended and action has been initiated against them.

The DC has directed the district officers to strictly adhere to office timings and advocated improvement in work culture, warning of strict action against erring employees in future.
