Pakistan terror factory has been exposed again after security forces caught a Jaish-e-Mohammad fidayeen alive, three months after he along with his three associates infiltrated from across the Line of Control (LoC) and carried out a suicide attack on the 3/1 Gorkha Riffles (GR) camp of the Indian Army at Tangdhar in frontier district of Kupwara.

Mohammad Sadiq Gujjar, 17, of Dasana tehsil in Sailkote Pakistan was arrested in a joint operation by Jammu and Kashmir Police, 52 Rashtriya Riffles and 46 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) from Baramulla district.

Sadiq was part of four members Afzal Guru Squad of JeM who carried out the attack on the 3/1GR camp which was foiled by the alert troops leaving three fidayeens dead on November 25, 2015. A civilian was also killed in the attack.

Sadiq however managed to escape from the spot and was later asked by his handlers from across the LoC to set up base in Baramulla and Kupwara and wait for further orders of launching fidayeen attack in or outside the valley.

“We had busted JeM module in Handwara in first week of this month. We got some leads about Sadiq which we developed further. We kept him under observation and took a calculated risk to apprehend him alive,” said Garib Dass, deputy inspector general of police, North Kashmir range.

Tasked to attack the army installations in the valley, the four members Afzal Guru Fidayeen Squad of JeM was launched from Athmuqam in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK) on November 24.

After trekking on foot, the squad using GPS reached Tangdhar on the morning of November 25 and attacked the camp. However the alert troops foiled the attack and killed three fidayeens on the spot.

“His father wanted him to become engineer but he joined JeM. He was given three months basic training in handling arms and ammunition. He was indoctrinated by the trainers in different camps for Jihad. He has also spent some days in the house of JeM chief Moulana Masood Azhar,” said a security force officer.

Hizbul supremo's son among 160 people rescued
When PoK based Hizbul Mujhadeen supremo and United Jihad Council chief Syed Salahuddin decided to confer ‘Hilal-e-Shujhat’ to three slain militants who killed six people including three Special Forces commandos in 48 hour long gun-battle at J&K Entrepreneur Development Institute (EDI), little did he realize that his son Syed Muheeb was one of the 160 people rescued by the security forces to safety from the building on Saturday. Syed Muheeb, a software engineer working as manager information technology at EDI, was present in the complex when three foreign militants attacked the CRPF convoy killing two soldiers and injuring 13 others before barging into the multistorey building which was buzzing with activities on Saturday afternoon.
