The United Jihad Council (UJC), an umbrella group of over a dozen militant outfits based in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir, has stirred the hornet's nest by claiming that a new Ikhwan (the disbanded pro government militia) is being created in the name of ISIS and al-qaeda using the facade of Zakir Musa.

"A new Ikhwan is being created for the past several months in the name of ISIS and Al-Qaeda using the façade of Zakir Musa. Indian-paid agents are being recruited for this brigade. They are being hailed by the Indian media and the impression is being given that these paid agents are the real heroes of the Kashmir freedom struggle," Syed Sadakat Hussain, the spokesperson for UJC, told a local news agency.

Hussain claimed that Indian intelligence agencies are busy hatching conspiracies and trying to "use the paid agents to weaken the ongoing "freedom struggle in Kashmir."

"For the past few days, the media has been busy cooking up a cock-and-bull story claiming that Zakir Musa is meeting with militants who had managed to enter into the Valley through Gulmarg route. We appeal to the people of Kashmir to be alert and expose such types of conspiracies," Hussain said.

After breaking ranks with Hizbul Mujhadeen, Musa formed the Al-Qaeda-linked Ansar Ghazwat-Ul-Hind and was named chief in July.
