Two vehicles of a company owned by BSP's deputy leader in the Assembly Uma Shankar Singh were today seized here in connection with illegal sand mining.
Dubhar police seized a dumper truck and JCB machine of Chhatra Shakti construction company which is owned by Singh, the BSP MLA from Rasra, in connection with illegal sand mining, said inspector Ramratan Singh.
The two seized vehicles were engaged in the construction work of a bridge over the Ganga at the Shivrampur ghat. The vehicles were used to dig earth in order to supply sand from a prohibited area without permission from the authorised persons, said the inspector.
The mining department has been asked to take further action in the matter, he added.
