While the Uttar Pradesh police shot dead suspected terrorist Mohammad Saifullah on Wednesday, six suspects have been arrested by cops in Madhya Pradesh and UP on terror charges, Singh said in a statement in the Lok Sabha.
Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Thursday said the whole country is proud of slain terrorist Mohammad Saifullah's father Sartaj for saying "a traitor cannot be my son, straight and simple". Making a statement in Lok Sabha over Lucknow encounter, the minister said, "He (Sartaj) refused to take terrorist Saifullah's body. The entire country is proud of him." He also announced that the National Investigating Agency (NIA) will probe the suspected terror cases – the Lucknow encounter and the train blasts.
Sartaj, who works in a leather factory in Kanpur, thanked Rajnath Singh. "Unka shukriya. Yeh sandesh purey India ke liye hona chahiye. Humare mantri chotey-chotey logon ko izzat dete hain. (I thank the home minister. The message is meant for everyone in India. The minister respects even small people like us)," he said.
The Home Minister also expressed sympathy with the family of Sartaj. "I express sympathy for the father and I am sure the House joins me," he said. Members thumped desks when the minister lauded Saifullah's father saying "if he (Saifullah) could not be loyal to the country, how can he be ours".

Saifullah was suspected to be linked with the blast in the Bhopal-Ujjain train in Madhya Pradesh on Tuesday.
Giving details of various cases registered in the two states following the blast which injured 10, he said the state police arrested three suspects in Hoshangabad in Madhya Pradesh, following which the Uttar Pradesh cops took steps in various parts of the state acting on information provided by the accused and the three others nabbed. "The above sequence of events presents an excellent example of coordination amongst state police and central agencies. Due to the prompt action taken by the police of both the states, a possible threat to national security was successfully averted. "Further investigations will be handed over to the NIA," he said. The Home Minister also informed the House that eight pistols, 630 live cartridges, Rs 1.5 lakh, three mobiles phones, four sim cards, two wireless sets and some foreign currency were recovered from the place where Saifullah lived.
Living in a modest home in Kanpur, Sartaj is an ordinary man working in Kanpur's leather industry. He and his family members work hard to make two ends' meet. His son Saifullah was a BCom dropout and had held promise for his family. Saifullah's story and Lucknow incident has highlighted an alarming trend of of self-radicalisation gradually spreading among Muslim families in India. Intelligence agencies over last one year have found instances where unemployed and educated Muslim youths reeling under psychological insecurity get hooked onto the cyber world and get influenced by radical groups.
