Haryana mulls creation of three new districts: Charkhi, Hansi and Gohana

The cabinet has also recommended creation of seven new sub-divisions, five tehsils, one sub-tehsil, six blocks and change the name of two blocks.

A Haryana cabinet sub-committee, constituted for re-organisation of districts, sub-divisions, and tehsils has proposed creation of three new districts in the state.

"An administrative committee headed by Financial Commissioner, Revenue will examine the feasibility of the proposal and submit its report before the sub-committee by May 31," said state Agriculture Minister O P Dhankar, who is the chairman of the cabinet sub-committee.

The proposed districts are Charkhi Dadri, Hansi and Gohana. At present there are 21 districts in Haryana.

Additional Chief Secretary, Panchayati Raj, Divisional Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner concerned would be members of the administrative committee. It would seek public opinion on creation of these new districts, he said.

The cabinet sub-committee has also recommended creation of seven new sub-divisions, five tehsils, one sub-tehsil, six blocks and change the name of two blocks, Dhankar said. The name of the new sub-divisions recommended are Uchana in Jind, Badhara in Bhiwani, Badhkal in Faridabad, Radaur in Yamunanagar, Badli in Jhajjar, Narnaund in Hisar and Ladwa in Kurukshetra. Besides this, sub-tehsils will also be constituted in Badli, Uchana and Ladwa.

The new tehsils recommended by the sub-committee are Alewa in Jind, Khijrabad in Yamunanagar, Mataluda in Panipat, Raipur Rani in Panchkula and Bass in Hisar district, he said, adding it had also recommended creation of Palawas sub-tehsil in Rewari district. The sub-committee had recommended creation of six new blocks, Badli in Jhajjar, Khijrabad in Yamunanagar, Badauli in Palwal, Pipli in Kurukshetra, Dahina in Rewari and Charkhi Dadri in Bhiwani district. At present there are 126 blocks in the state, the minister said.

Dhankar said Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar had constituted the cabinet sub committee keeping in view the demand of the people for creation of new tehsils, sub-division and districts.
