As for this election, 13 tribal seats spread over five districts of Banaskantha, Sabarkantha, Panchmahals, Dahold and Vadodara went to polls on Thursday.
The tribal seats in the districts that went to the polls on Thursday continued with the trend of high percentage of voting. The tribal districts saw around 70% of voting during the first phase too.
As for this election, 13 tribal seats spread over five districts of Banaskantha, Sabarkantha, Panchmahals, Dahold and Vadodara went to polls on Thursday.
Banaskantha saw 74% of voting and the tribal seat Danta recorded 65.28% while Sabarkantha saw 77% polling. The latter reported some trouble with the EVMs in three places in Bhiloda seat. The issue was later resolved.
The polling percentage for other districts were Panchmahals (72%), Dahod (65.36%) and Vadodara (73%). While Panchmahals and Vadodara saw a bit less voting than 2012, Dahod saw a considerable dip. The district had registered over 69% voting in the last assembly election.
Both Khedbrahma and Bhildo in Panchmahals saw over 70% voting. In Vadodara too, the tribal seats recorded a heavy turnout. Seat specific voting percentage for the three seats in Vadodara were not available at the time of going to print. In Dahod district, Fatehpura seat saw two incidents of violence. Both the incidents involved workers from BJP and Congress battling each other over some issues in voting.
Dahod has six seats of which five are reserved for tribals. Fatehpura is one of them and saw 60.91% of voting. The other seats are Jhalod (67.23%), Limkheda (71.21%) , Dahod (64.56%) and Garbada (50.98%).
The district saw 78 instances where one of the parts of EVM had to be changed.
Looking at dahod
Dahod has six seats of which five are reserved for tribals. Fatehpura is one of them and saw 60.91% of voting. The other seats are Jhalod (67.23%), Limkheda (71.21%) , Dahod (64.56%) and Garbada (50.98%).
