A fake resignation letter of Gujarat Congress president Bharatsinh Solanki went viral on social media on Thursday. The letter comes a day before Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi's two-day Gujarat visit, and amid reports that Solanki is not happy with the selection of candidates from some of the seats. The letter has surfaced a few days after a fake list of Congress's 77 candidates on the letterhead of Gujarat Congress and bearing Solanki's signature went viral.

In the letter, Solanki states he is resigning from the party over ticket distribution for the Gujarat elections.

It also states that Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi was being misled by a section of party leaders.

When contacted, Solanki denied having written any such letter and called it the handiwork of the BJP.

"I am preparing for our tomorrow's programme. There is no question of my resignation letter. I am a loyal soldier of Congress party," Solanki said.
