Season's greetings!
Updated : Mar 28, 2017, 09:36 AM IST
Chaitra Navratri, Gudi Padwa, Cheti Chand, and Ugadi are the auspicious festivals that mark the onset of spring and promise fresh beginnings of growth, prosperity, and well-being. The festivals are celebrated across India and Indian Diaspora around the globe.
The day also marks the beginning of a new Samvatsar. A Samvatsar is a cycle of sixty years.
On the eve of Gudi Padwa, President Pranab Mukherjee extended greetings to citizens of India. On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted at good wishes and prayed for the happiness, good health, and prosperity of all.
Following on his heels, ministers of his cabinet, West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee, sportspeople like Virender Sehwag and Vijender Singh also greeted their fans on the auspicious occasion.
Let's take a look.
