Nagpur is currently hosting the first-ever First International Contest and Exhibition of cartoons in remembrance of renowned cartoonist RK Laxman and Mahatma Gandhi.

Titled ‘Un-common Atma to the Mahatma’, the event started on January 26, the death anniversary of RK Laxman, and will conclude on January 30. The event is being organised by Lalitya Foundation & Genesys Foundation and supported by RK IPR Management Pvt Ltd (RKIPRMPL) and Vidarbha Cartoonists’ Association.

More than 350 cartoons and caricatures received from across the world are part of the contest.

The event was inaugurated by Usha Laxman, daughter-in-law of the late RK Laxman, in the presence of cartoonist Vikas Sabnis, Manish Rangnekar and Nandu Gupta, Director RKIPRMPL. Other guests and organisers, including Genesys President Radhika Buty-Karnik and Lalitya President Prasad Pimprikar were also present.
