A resident of Patna's Buddha Colony, Shehnaz Khatun, says she is really happy that her husband has quit alcohol following the ban. The couple has four children. Shehnaz says that their eldest daughter, who is 18 years old, was very disturbed by her father’s drinking. "Because of her father’s alcoholism, her health had deteriorated and her study was also getting affected,” Shehnaz reveals. Read full story here.
Forty kilometres away from the national capital of the country is Tonki village in Sonipat district. A three-kilometre long pucca road may finally bring development to the hamlet and ease its struggle against lack of basic facilities. Haryana State Agricultural Marketing Board has approved the construction of the road between Khurmpur and Tonki after our correspondent Sunil Chhikara raised the issue in a report dated March 18. The proposal to allot funds to the tune of Rs 95 lakh has been sent to the government. Read the story here.
The heat wave has worsened water woes of people living in several villages of 14 blocks in Cuttack district. People residing in Athagarh, Banki, Baranga, Cuttack Sadar, Damapada, Narasighpur, Salepur, Mahanga, Nischintakoili, Kantapada, Tangi-Choudwar, Niali,Tigiria and Badamba blocks are now facing acute drinking water shortage.

Under the project, ‘Delhi School Adarsh Toilet Mission 2016-19’, NGO Sampurna is planning to walk one step at a time towards its goal. This project which will be launched on May 10 at Constitution Club. Along with the launch of the project, 'Shauchalya Swachhta' app will be launched.
