    Four men, who were arrested for running an illegal mini-telephone exchange here and had alleged links with the underworld, were today remanded IN police custody for four days.

    Sub-divisional Judicial Magistrate (SDJM) Sarita Mohanty granted permission to Odisha crime branch to take the accused in their custody.

    The police in Gopalpur had arrested the four on Saturday on a tip-off by Mumbai Police.

    The special task force (STF) of the state crime branch has already taken over the investigation into the running of the mini-telephone exchange with SIM boxes made in China.

    A two-member team of the anti-extortion cell (AEC) of Thane (Mumbai) are camping in the town to probe the alleged link of the arrested persons with underworld don Chhota Rajan, who is now in the jail.
