The vigilance department of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) apprehended five people for cheating and helping candidates in the written examination conducted for the recruitment for the post of constable.
The force stated that the accused were equipped with electronic gadgets such as earphones and bluetooth devices to pass on the questions to the handlers in the examination.
It further alleged that the vigilance department uncovered the involvement of a public servant against whom a departmental inquiry has been initiated.
"As per the modus operandi, they tried to use artificial thumb impressions of the candidates to trick the biometric identity and seek entry into the examination hall.
Four candidates from examination centre of Patna were handed over to Bihar Police for using unfair means during the examination," the force stated. The examination was carried out on July 2, 2017.
It also stated that they have handed over the matter to local police for further investigation.
The force also requested the local police to conduct an inquiry and find the role of people deployed at the examination centre.
The force has also asked candidates to be vigilant and avoid falling fall prey to nefarious activities.
